Arch Install
Arch Install
So I’m planning to install artix linux on my computer. Why artix? When I was younger and more impressionable someone told me that systemd sucks. At that point I was looking to install arch, since I had failed at that earlier. That’s how I found artix. I rather like it, except the install is rather suboptimal and my disk space is running out. Rather then spend long hours painstakingly tidying my current install, I’d rather spend this time configuring the new install :p.
What I look for:
- Understanding: I want to know how it works
- Reliability: speaks for itself
- Performance: I want to open my laptop and not wait for minutes until it is finished starting.
- Small disk footprint: the more free storage I have, the more space I have for my data hoarding.
- Small CPU and memory footprint: why would my system be consuming the resources I can use to run programs if it doesn’t need to?
Why not gentoo? Don’t want to. Compiling everything with every update sounds tedious.
